College Placements

Applications must be received 3 months prior to placement.    These placements are open to applicants who are linked to Mission agencies, Churches or Colleges known to LCM, and who are primarily from the European Union or the USA.

All applicants will need to apply by the end of October for a placement in February onwards of the following year. The student needs to complete an application form and provide a reference from the college and also one from their Pastor/Minister.   Applicants will need to undergo a CRB check or the equivalent Police Criminal record check as appropriate if outside of the UK, prior to starting the placement. The CRB check must be applied for through LCM as we cannot accept a check from another agency. London City Mission will cover the costs of all UK based CRB checks. When the placement has been confirmed, the student will be put in contact with the placement supervisor who will be a full time member of the London City Mission outreach staff. The supervisor will provide details of the placement and will complete any assessment forms required by the college. These students will be accommodated when possible with the Gap year team, and in this case, meals will be provided. Where this is not possible the accommodation will be self catering and usually in the Hostel next to the LCM headquarters building. Placement students will need to pay for their own travel costs and will be asked to contribute to the cost of their accommodation and meals. All applicants will be required to provide a Short Term Placement Application form and a Police Criminal record check before the placement can be confirmed.
