Someone’s later years are hugely significant – but people are increasingly isolated and lonely as they get older, and have fewer opportunities to hear the gospel.
When we see older people giving their lives to Jesus, there's great potential not only for spiritual growth, but also for giving and serving in unique ways in the church.
We come alongside churches to meet older people in their local area, to build friendships and to start gospel conversations which are so often fruitful. Our vision is that thousands of older people will be shown the love of Jesus and will be invited to follow him, and enjoy an eternal future with him!
Henry's story
Henry is a retired doctor. He received a visit from missionary Simon Knightly, who had been out with members of Redeemer Church, meeting people in the local area.
It was the second time that Simon had called by to see Henry. Henry remembered this initial visit, and he'd been thinking about the conversation they'd had about Jesus.
After a long conversation he agreed to come to church that Sunday. He came for the next four Sundays, and the pastor took him to one side, explained the gospel thoroughly and led him in a prayer of commitment. He’s become a part of the church community, and Simon has been discipling him ever since.
