Practical evangelism training

Practical Evangelism Training (PET) is a one-day, stand-alone training workshop. Whether you’re a church leader or member, after a day with us you’ll be equipped and inspired to reach your local community with the gospel.

You’ll explore one topic or theme throughout the day. Topics include:

  • how to launch a door-to-door ministry
  • making Jesus known on estates
  • ministry with young people
  • how to share the gospel creatively through music and art
  • reaching older people with the good news

The clue to this training is in the title. It’s practical. You’ll take part in role play, practise having gospel conversations, and hear real-life stories from our missionaries. By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with new ideas, strategies and inspiration to share the gospel in your neighbourhood.

PET days tend to attract around 30-40 people and we love to see whole churches coming together. No two training days are the same, so you can attend again and again for fresh inspiration. We can also run tailored days for your church. Speak to us to find out more.

Who's it for?

PET days are for Christians and church leaders. The training is pitched at those new to evangelism and you don’t need any experience of evangelism to attend. However, if you are already involved in a gospel-sharing ministry, you will also learn plenty of new tips and tools on a PET day.

Timing

We run the course on four Saturdays every year

Training Overview

Each PET day starts with a Bible talk, setting the foundation for everything we do. You can expect a packed itinerary of workshop-style learning on the topic. Come prepared to get involved! You may take part in group role play, practise having gospel conversations, or interactively explore issues relating to the topic. You’ll have opportunities to ask questions and discuss your context throughout the day.

Shane Goodyear

The next PET day will be on Reaching Seniors with the Gospel, on Saturday 15th June. Find out more here.
