It was during a ‘chance’ visit to a church’s website, that Adam’s curiosity led him to download the Gospel of Mark. This was to change his life forever. He read the whole book in one sitting, and he believed everything. He contacted the vicar, visited the church the following Wednesday evening and has been living for Jesus ever since.
“The day I became a Christian was the beginning of my love affair with Jesus and his church! Now I’m passionate about introducing Jesus to those who don’t know him and equipping those who know Jesus to make Him known!”
Adam is a Missionary Team Leader in Haringey, where his team partners with local churches to equip and encourage Christians to regularly share the good news of Jesus within their communities. This involves training church members in evangelism and working with them to establish new ministries, such as visiting people’s homes and starting conversations about Jesus.
Haringey is like the tale of two cities… or two boroughs. The east has high deprivation, unemployment, and many languages spoken. Whereas the west is affluent, and less diverse. Part of the challenge is this East-West divide and encouraging churches to work together and equip people to flourish in their faith.
“My vision for Haringey, is to see more people introduced to churches, and for the churches to equip their whole congregation to make Jesus known.”
Adam also leads the week-long annual LiNKUPs, where around 40 young people leave London for a week and get to hear the gospel in their own context. It includes activities, talks and workshops aimed at helping young people grow closer to Jesus.
“The purpose of the LiNKUPs is simple. We introduce young people to Jesus (if they don’t know him) and equip those who know him to be more confident to make him known to those in their circles of influence.”
Adam has five wonderful children, and he loves to cook and bake in his spare time. He’s also a big fan of Arsenal (but asks you not to judge him for it!)
