Dan Burrows

Team Leader at Webber Street Homeless Day Centre

"The vision is to see the kingdom of God break through into the lives of the homeless"

Dan has always felt called to minister to people who are struggling. For twelve years he worked for Christians Against Poverty, helping clients who were overwhelmed with debt. Before this he was an LCM Missionary serving in Kings Cross & Dagenham from 2005-2009.

In September 2021, he re-joined LCM, after feeling a strong sense from God to not only serve Him on the front line with the homeless community in London, but also to lead a team in equipping others to reach out with the good news of Jesus.

“I desire to see people restored to all that God longs for them to be, lives restored with a home to call their own and a church community to belong to."

Dan currently leads of a large team of paid and non-paid staff at the Webber Street Day Centre for people that are homeless.  In partnership with local churches, guests are given food, clothing and someone to talk to while hearing the life-giving news of Jesus. Webber Street also runs weekly lunch time groups and a weekly 1-2-1 drop in service, so guests can receive support to take the next steps out of homelessness.

Lambeth has seen a 10% increase in homelessness in recent years. Waterloo station tends to be a hub for homeless people, many of whom have suffered violence or abuse.

“My vision is to see the kingdom of God break through into the lives of the homeless people in Waterloo and Brixton. I long to see people set free from the heart-breaking cycle they find themselves in of struggling with addictions, loneliness, and having to sleep on the street.”

Dan lives in south London with his wife and daughter.
