Devina Ramroch

Devina grew up in Mauritius, in a Hindu family. During a difficult period in her life, she began questioning the existence of God.

“I was seeking Him with all my heart, and He answered my prayer by showing His presence through a miraculous healing of my friend,” she shares.

Devina’s friend was healed after calling on the name of Jesus. This experience sparked her interest in exploring Christianity.

Soon after, she moved to London, purchased a Bible, and began reading it from the very beginning. When she read about the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12, she decided to see if this ‘Holy Spirit’ was real.

She started attending church, and a few months later, she gave her life to Christ.

After spending 10 years in the corporate world, she felt a strong calling to join the Great Commission. She soon applied to LCM, where she now works at Webber Street Day Centre for people who are homeless.

“I would love for every person on this planet to experience the joy and freedom of having Jesus as Lord and Savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life! (John 8:32). We can only be saved, happy, and free by knowing Him and His presence. My heart is to share this truth with every person I encounter for the rest of my life.”

Devina now serves as a Project Worker at Webber Street, helping people take steps out of homelessness and providing relief from life on the streets. She shares, “At Webber Street, we take time to listen and talk to our guests. We welcome them with love, serve food, offer warm showers, provide practical support and advice, and gently extend a hand of friendship to those who might welcome it.”

The team also seeks to meet the spiritual needs of their guests by running Bible studies, hosting community meals with churches, and finding natural opportunities to share the gospel.

Every day at Webber Street, Devina meets people struggling with homelessness, poverty, and addiction. The average life expectancy for a rough sleeper is in the mid-40s, with 15% of deaths resulting from suicide. Devina shares, “I would love to see our guests enjoy the everlasting hope that we have in Jesus, rejoicing in freedom from any form of lies, anxiety, and addictions in their lives, in the name of Jesus!”

In her spare time, Devina enjoys listening to music, going to the gym, and dancing to worship music while praising the Lord!
