Raised in a Christian home, Isaiah struggled with his faith during his teenage years, trying to fit in with his peers. It wasn't until a bold Christian friend invited him to church and introduced him to the Gospel that his journey back to God began. Attending a youth group, he was profoundly impacted by teenagers who loved Jesus and weren't afraid to share it.
“I’ve noticed that it is increasingly difficult to be a bold Christian as a child/teenager, and there aren’t many groups of young people like the one God graciously put me in. My heart for missions is fuelled by my own experiences as a teenager,” Isaiah shares.
“Seeing young people boldly live out their faith transformed my life, and I want to offer that same opportunity to the youth in London. Encouraging them to embrace their faith and confidently share it is my mission.”
Isaiah does this as part of a team, planning youth events, and assisting churches with the Life Exhibition and Operation Forgiveness. These initiatives aim to present the Gospel and provide positive alternatives to the challenges young people face today.
"My heart for young people has also come from a place of pain too. Whilst God had graciously kept me during my teenage years, I had seen some of my friends go down a very different path to mine which eventually led to one of my friends being put in prison for murder, and another being murdered... In London, the spiritual and physical needs are immense. Knife crime, particularly among young people, is a growing concern. There is a critical need for early intervention and positive influences to prevent such tragedies."
Isaiah’s vision for London is to see a generation of young people who are confident in their faith, setting an example for others as we are encouraged to do in 1 Timothy 4, ‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.' He believes that by reaching young people early, lives can be transformed, and communities can be changed for the better.
Outside of his mission work, Isaiah enjoys playing and watching football, and he's an avid Arsenal fan.
