Initially pursuing a career as a business analyst, Jill’s life took a dramatic turn when she was invited to a Christianity Explored course by a colleague. Embracing her newfound faith, Jill felt a calling to the mission field, especially ministry to women trapped in prostitution. She had expected to go abroad but began to recognise the pressing need for Christ's love in London. After 15 years in her corporate role, she took a leap of faith and joined London City Mission.
“I was blown away by Jesus walking off the pages of Mark’s Gospel. When I gave my life to Christ a couple of years later, I felt a sense of liberation and joy that I knew could only come from Jesus and I wanted to share this with those around me,” Jill recalls.
Jill serves as a missionary in Wandsworth and Lambeth – where homelessness and marginalisation is increasingly visible. Her mission is to spread the gospel of salvation, grace, and hope among people who are homeless and marginalised – to come alongside those who are vulnerable and suffering. Jill is deeply committed to reaching out to those who have fallen through the cracks, offering them the hope and love of Jesus.
She explains, "At the heart of our vision as a team is the desire to work with local churches and organisations to share our passion, knowledge, and experience. We aim to reach those least likely to have a Christian friend to share the gospel with them."
Jill envisions a community where every individual, regardless of their circumstances, is treated with dignity, value, and worth, especially when they come to church. Her hope is that through her ministry, broken lives will be restored, and individuals will be pointed towards the unconditional love of the Father.
Growing up in a non-Christian home, Jill's journey to faith was marked by a transformative encounter with Jesus. She now lives in Tooting, enjoys spending time with family and friends and reading.
