Before the renovations, every Thursday at 2 pm, a lawyer, employment worker, outreach worker, and Webber Street staff provided practical support to guests.
They have created a drop-in where housing issues, access to support services, immigration advice, employment support, and many other types of support are provided.
“The 1-2-1 sessions were created to be a place where Webber Street guests could receive specific support from a project worker or specialist for a 30-minute to an hour,” explains Dan Burrows, Ministry Leader at Webber Street Day Centre.
“Some guests require more time and support to take steps out of homelessness. It could be barriers to language or just not understanding the options available to them. Sometimes, there could be confusion with the bureaucratic system we have in the UK regarding access to services.
