Forming deep relationships for the gospel

Gareth Jones, Field Director for Schools, took us through John 11:1-45, looking at the miraculous resurrection of Lazarus.

The passage features the shortest verse in the bible 'Jesus wept' (verse 35), highlighting Jesus' ability to form deep relationships and being deeply moved by the situation.

He shared that our passion for evangelism and the urgency to share the gospel needs to go beyond words, and should be displayed in deed via being genuinely invested in people.

Looking at the state of the country, Gareth shared the great need for a resurrection, not just to revive our communities but also the local church. This was also a challenge for us to seek God more for a move in our hearts as well as in our nation.

Concluding his talk, the parallel was made between Jesus telling the people to remove the stone covering Lazarus' tomb and the part we play in removing the barriers stopping people from hearing the gospel.
